    Monday, April 8, 2013 2:00 PM
Sparks Council Chambers, 745 4th Street, Sparks, NV

General Business: 6.3

Title: Consideration and approval of Annual Contributions to Other Governments that serve general City purposes.
Petitioner/Presenter: Shaun Carey/Shaun Carey
Recommendation: That the City Council review and provide direction on Annual Contributions to Other Governments for Fiscal Year (FY) 14.
Financial Impact: N/A
Business Impact (Per NRS 237):

A Business Impact Statement is not required because this is not a rule.
Agenda Item Brief: The City Manager is providing an annual updated City Funding list to be included in the City Budget that is paid to other Governments in support of City and Regional Services. Many of these are covered by Interlocal Agreements.

Background: As part of the Budget Development Process the City Manager includes Annual Payments for Other Governments that are covered by NRS or Interlocal Agreements. The City Manager is trying to increase budget awareness and transparency into General Government expenditures for the City Council.

Analysis: The attached table shows the Annual Contributions to Other Governments approved in the Budget for the Fiscal Year (FY) 12, the current FY 13 and the best budget level information for the memberships for next fiscal year (as a new report and because of movement with the City Budget) not all preceding years are available. The City Manager is requesting no changes to current types of contributions to other governments but is showing the adjusted funding levels based upon NRS or Interlocal Agreements.

Alternatives: The City Council may make changes to any contributions; however those changes will need to be addressed with changes in NRS or Interlocal Agreements to be implemented.

Recommended Motion: I move to approve the funding of the Contributions to Other Governments in next Fiscal Year’s Budget.
