Agenda Item Brief: Consideration and possible award of the purchase of a Play Equipment for Willow Creek Park, to Big T Recreation, in the amount of $39,849.84. The purchase of this play equipment will replace the existing deteriorated structure at Willow Creek Park. Staff recommends approval.
Background: The current play equipment at Willow Creek Park is sixteen years old. Based on review by City Staff, the structures require replacement to allow for safe play. The equipment for the park being purchased will provide play for ages 2 and up. The Playworld Systems Play equipment is standard play equipment that the City purchases and installs at neighborhood parks. The Funding for this equipment is coming from Park Construction Tax District 2 Fund 1407.
Analysis: Big T Recreation is the supplier of Playworld Systems play equipment on the west coast; we are using a Federal GSA Contract for pricing therefore only one quote was obtained to purchase this equipment. The total cost of the play equipment is $39,849.84. A copy of the quote, of equipment being purchased, and map of the site are attached for the Councils review. The installation of the equipment is being informally quoted to local contractors certified to install play equipment.
Alternatives: 1. City Council could approve the purchase of Play Equipment for Willow Creek Park, to Big T Recreation as outlined by staff. 2. City Council could reject purchase of Play Equipment for Willow Creek Park, to Big T Recreation, and provide direction to the City Manager.
Recommended Motion: I move to award the purchase of Play Equipment for Willow Creek Park, to Big T Recreation, in the amount of $39,849.84.
