Recommendation: : That Council confirm the Mayor’s recommendation for appointment to the Regional Planning Commission.

Agenda Item Brief: Committee Appointments.

Background: The City of Sparks has three Planning Commissioners who are appointed to serve on the Truckee Meadows Regional Planning Commission. Currently, Commissioners Tom Lean and Doug Voelz represent the City on the Regional Planning Commission. Commissioner Jackie Peterson’s term as a Sparks Planning Commissioner ended as of December 31, 2012 and on March 7, 2013 the Sparks Planning Commission recommended Commissioner Art Sperber be appointed to the Regional Planning Commission to replace Ms. Peterson. The Mayor appoints Regional Planning Commissioners subject to confirmation by the City Council.

Recommended Motion: I move to confirm the Mayor’s recommendation to appoint Art Sperber to the Truckee Meadows Regional Planning Commission to a term which expires June 30, 2014.
