Agenda Item Brief: Committee appointments.
Background: Appointments to the Civil Service Commission will expire on June 30, 2012. There are two appointments and one vacancy at this time. Each appointment is for a 3-year term. The vacancy is for a term which will expire on June 30, 2014. Steve Burlie and Louis Dauria have both requested re-appointment and Mayor Martini will make his recommendations at the council meeting. Appointments to the Sparks Parks and Recreation will expire on June 30, 2012. There are two appointments available at this time. Each appointment is for a 3-year term. Angela Fuss and Thomas Cornell have both requested re-appointment and Mayor Martini is recommending them. The City Council must confirm the appointments as recommended by the Mayor. Additional appointments to each of the foregoing committees will be made at a future City Council meeting.
