Agenda Item Brief: Committee Appointments.
Background: The City of Sparks has three Planning Commissioners who are appointed to serve on the Truckee Meadows Regional Planning Commission. Currently, Commissioners Tom Lean, Jackie Peterson, and Doug Voelz represent the City on the Regional Planning Commission. Commissioner Voelz’ term expires on June 30, 2012. The Mayor appoints Regional Planning Commissioners subject to confirmation by the City Council.
Analysis: Doug Voelz is completing a three-year term and is willing to serve another term on the Regional Planning Commission. This term would expire June 30, 2015.
Alternatives: None.
Recommended Motion: I move to confirm the Mayor’s recommendation to reappoint Doug Voelz to the Truckee Meadows Regional Planning Commission to a 3-year term which expires on June 30, 2015.
