The Enterprise Fund Advisory Committee (EFAC) has one (1) vacancy for a 4-year term ending December 31, 2024. The vacancy is for a representative with construction industry experience.
Background:
Pursuant to NRS 354.59893, local goverments are required to form an advisory committee to review the enterprise fund for the issuance of building permits, barricade permits, and encroachment permits. The EFAC was created in 2007 by Resolution of the Sparks City Council and may issue opinions and recommendations to the Council, without limitation.
This advisory committee is to review the Development Services Enterprise Fund and is comprised of the following five members, each for 4-year terms:
- One representative of the residential construction industry
- One representative of the commercial development industry
- One representative of the construction industry
- One public officer or employee of the city of Sparks who manages the fiscal affairs of the city
- One public officer or employee of the city of Sparks who oversees directly the opertion of the enterprise fund
Analysis:
There is one (1) vacancy on the EFAC for a construction industry representative for a 4-year term ending December 31, 2024. The vacancy was advertised at the October 26 and November 9, 2020 City Council meetings. The Mayor has reviewed the applications and provided a recommendation for the committee.
Alternatives:
1. Council may approve the Mayor's recommended appointment
2. Council may deny the Mayor's recommended appointment and provide further direction to the Mayor or City Manager
Recommended Motion:
I move to approve the Mayor's recommondation to appoint Robert Sandoval as the construction industry representative on the Enterprise Fund Advisory Committee, for a 4-year term ending December 31, 2024.
