Background:
The City of Sparks Planning Commission has one vacancy due to the resignation of Commissioner Karim Shabazz effective September 30, 2018. The successful appointee will serve the remainder of Commissioner Shabazz's term that expires on December 31, 2020.
Announcements were made at the July 23 and August 13 City Council meetings. The application period was open through August 27, 2018 and several applications were received. The Mayor will announce his recommendation for appointment at the meeting. Council must confirm the appointment.
