Title: Consideration and possible approval of an application for a Gaming license for Nugget Sparks LLC, dba Nugget Casino Resort located at 1040 Victorian Ave., Sparks, NV submitted Mr. Mark Sterbens.

Recommendation: It is recommended that Council approve Mr. Mark Sterbens’ application for a Gaming license contingent upon the approval from the State of Nevada Gaming Control Board, location being inspected and approved by every city, county, district, and state agency having jurisdiction over the matter and upon fingerprints being returned from the FBI/CJIS that do not reflect any disqualifying arrests/convictions.

Financial Impact: $30.00 x 16 = $480.00 quarterly. There will be 16 multi denomination coin-operated machines (Slots, Twenty One, Poker, Dice).

Mr. Mark Sterbens is applying for a Gaming License for Nugget Sparks LLC, dba Nugget Casino Resort located at 1040 Victorian Ave., in Sparks, Nevada. Anticipated start date for the business is 01/01/2019. Mr. Mark Sterbens was an Assistant General Manager for Colorado Belle – Edgewater from January, 2009 to May, 2016 located at 2100 S. Casino Dr., Laughlin, Nevada. He was a Marketing Director for Herbst Gaming from December, 2001 to January, 2009 located in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Analysis:

Mr. Mark Sterbens has complied with all existing ordinances and requirements.

Alternatives:

Council may approve or disapprove this application.

Recommended Motion:
