Agenda Item Brief:

Board appointments.

Background:

The Truckee Meadows Water Authority is a not-for-profit, community-owned water utility, overseen by elected officials and citizen appointees from Reno, Sparks and Washoe County.

The parties of the TMWA Board of Directors share a common interest in assuring that water resources be develped and managed to filfull the present and future water needs of the greater Truckee Meadows community.

Analysis:

Mayor Geno Martini has resigned from the Board and is recommending Council Member Kristopher Dahir, who has been serving as an alternate, to take his place.  Council could confirm this appointment, which is co-terminus.

The Council could also appoint an alternate to the Board, if necessary.  The alternate serves a co-terminus appointment.

Alternatives:

The Council could give other direction.

Recommended Motion:

I move to confirm the appointment of Kristopher Dahir to the Truckee Meadows Water Authority Board of Directors.

I also move to appoint ___________________ as an alternate to the Truckee Meadows Water Authority Board of Directors.
