Title: Consideration, discussion and possible approval of the Mayor's recommendation of appointments to the Parks and Recreation Commission from the following pool of applicants listed in alphabetical order: Scott Benton; Katie Jo Cromeenes; Brad Fitch; Richard Lauzardo; Marisa Mullen; Kaylee Spinhirn; and Andrea Tavener.

Recommendation: That the Council confirm the Mayor's appointments to the Parks and Recreation Commission.

Background:

The purpose of the Parks and Recreation Commission is to review the tentative budget of the Parks and Recreation Department; recommend improvements to parks and playgrounds to the City Council, and aid by recommendation in the implementation of a beneficial parks and recreation program.

Analysis:

The City has two appointments available to the Parks and Recreation Commission; both are for three-year terms that expire on June 30, 2021.

Announcements were made at the April 23, May 14 & May 29 council meetings, and several people have submitted applications expressing interest in serving on the Commission. Mayor Martini has conducted brief interviews with the applicants and will announce his recommendation for appointment at the meeting. Council must confirm the appointments.

Council could give other direction.

I move to confirm the Mayor's appointments of ______________________ and _________________to the Parks and Recreation Commission, for terms that will expire on June 30, 2021.
