Agenda Item Brief: Committee appointments

Background: Announcement of these vacancies has been made at several City Council meetings. Sparks has three appointments to the Airport Noise Advisory Panel. Because of a relocation, one of the appointees resigned last spring. Housing Specialist George Graham has applied to serve on the Panel, and Mayor Martini is recommending his appointment. The current term will expire December 31, 2012. Succeeding terms are for two years. One of the Park & Recreation Commissioners wishes to resign prior to the end of his term - June 30, 2012. Thomas Cornell has applied to serve on the Commission, and Mayor Martini is recommending his appointment. Mr. Cornell will complete the unexpired term and be automatically reappointed to the succeeding three-year term. Council must confirm these appointments.
