Title: Consideration and possible approval to purchase the equipment and labor to up-fit four police vehicles from Lehr Auto Electric in the amount of $56,731.40.

Recommendation: Staff recommends that Council approve the purchase of equipment and labor to up-fit four police vehicles from Lehr Auto Electric in the amount of $56,731.40.
Financial Impact: $56,731.40 in Motor Vehicle Fund 1702. $1,450,500.00 was approved for project #15-7500, Vehicle & Equipment Replacement Plan in the FY15, and $392,685.12 of budget authority is currently available. $126,448.58 of replacement funds have been collected in this fund for the replacement of the four vehicles.

Agenda Item Brief:

Equipment Services is requesting authorization to spend $56,731.40 to up-fit four patrol vehicles for the Police Department.



Background:

This request is for the parts and labor to up-fit four replacement patrol vehicles #227L, #228J, #243F, and #254E. These vehicles have reached the end of their life cycle. The Tahoe 4X4 #243F will be reused as a replacement for another older vehicle in the fleet.

  3. Council could direct the City Manager to provide alternatives to this purchase.


Recommended Motion:

I move to approve the purchase of the equipment and labor to up-fit four police vehicles from Lehr Auto Electric in the amount of $56,731.40.
