Consideration and possible award of the 2015 Preventative Maintenance Program, Bid No. 14/15-016, PWP-WA-2015-135 to Sierra Nevada Construction, in the amount of $424,006.88.
Background:
The Preventative Maintenance, Slurry Seal Program is a yearly program that provides preventative maintenance treatments on candidate pavements included in the City’s Transportation maintenance plan. This program will be treating over 2 million square feet with a Type II Micro Seal. Refer to attached exhibits for street locations.
Analysis:
The project scope identifies micro surfacing, traffic control, public outreach and permanent striping. The City of Sparks received four (4) qualified bids for this project, which were received April 1, 2015, at 1:45 p.m. and opened on April 1, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.
A bid summary of the qualified bidders is shown below:
- Sierra Nevada Construction $424,006.88
- Intermountain Slurry Seal $499,174.50
- Valley Slurry Seal International $602,123.50
- Telfer Oil Company $615,030
Alternatives:
- City Council could award the project as outlined by Staff.
- City Council could reject the proposed project and provide direction to the City Manager.
Recommended Motion:
I move to award the 2015 Preventative Maintenance Program to Sierra Nevada Construction, in the amount of $424,006.88.
