Agenda Item Brief:

Consideration and possible award of the 2015 Street Rehabilitation – Unit 3, Bid No. 14/15-013, PWP-WA-2015-112 to Spanish Springs Construction, in the amount of $891,444. Staff recommends that council award the contract.

Background:

This 2015 Street Rehabilitation Unit 3 project is part of the City’s Transportation System - Pavement Management Program. The project was prioritized through the City’s Pavement Management System and outlined in the 5 year Program of Projects.

Analysis:

The project scope identifies the need to remove and replace as needed rundown curb gutter, driveway approaches, sidewalk ramps and reconstruct the roadway with new asphalt on Sycamore Glen Drive from Springland Drive to Figoni Ranch Road, Sorensen Way from Baring Boulevard to Del Rosa Way and Del Rosa Way from Sorensen Way to Blossom View Drive.

The City of Sparks received three (3) qualified bids for this project, which were received March 25, 2015 at 1:45 p.m. and opened on March 25, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.
