A Business Impact Statement is not required because this is not a rule.
Agenda Item Brief: Consideration and possible award of the purchase of Game Time play structures for Van Meter Park, to Great Western; in the amount of $25,979.32. The purchase of this play equipment will replace the existing deteriorated structures at Van Meter Park. Staff recommends approval.

Background: The current par course equipment at Van Meter Park is fourteen years old. Based on review by City Staff, the structures require replacement to allow for safe play. The pieces of equipment for the park that are being purchased, will satisfy ages 2 and above. The Game Time Play equipment is standard play equipment that the City purchases and installs at neighborhood parks. The Funding for this equipment is coming from Park Construction Tax District 2 Fund 1407.

Analysis: Great Western is the Western Regional supplier of Game Time play equipment based out of Utah and their local representative in Sparks worked with the city to develop the quote. We are using a Carson City Joinder Bid #0607-008 therefore only one quote was obtained to purchase this equipment. The total cost of all pieces of play equipment is $25,979.32. A copy of the quote and pieces of equipment being purchased are attached for the Council’s review.

Alternatives: 1. City Council could approve the purchase of the Game Time play structures for Van Meter, to Great Western as outlined by Staff. 2. City Council could reject purchase of the Game Time play structures for Van Meter Park, to Great Western, and provide direction to the City Manager.

Recommended Motion: I move to award the purchase of the Game Time play structures for Van Meter Park, to Great Western, in the amount of $25,979.32.
