Agenda Item Brief: Committee appointment to the Western Nevada Development District.
Background: Membership into the Western Nevada Development District was approved by the City Council on September 24, 2012. The City Council appointed Council Member Ed Lawson as the elected representative to serve on the WNDD Board and Council Member Ron Schmitt as the alternate. Each member may appoint not more than two private sector members from the business, industrial, professional and educational segments of that County and they will serve at the pleasure of the Sparks City Council. (Resolution No. 3225). Mayor Martini will make his recommendation at the council meeting.
