On October 26, 2020, Council approved the employment contract, AC-5707, for Assistant City Manager Alyson McCormick. After review, language regarding sick leave conversion was found to be missing from the contract. This was an administrative error, and her contract is being resubmitted to the rectify the error.
Background:
On October 26, 2020 Council approved an employment contract for Alyson McCormick. After review, staff determined that there was an administrative error, omitting contract language regarding sick leave conversion options. This amended agreement would correct that error.
Analysis:
Following is a summary of the Agreement reached between the parties. The pay and benefits are the same as submitted in the October 26, 2020 agreement, except for a change in the sick leave conversion benefit. This benefit was afforded to executives in their former resolution and was not intended to be changed in the individual employment contracts. There is no financial impact of this change because this benefit is already in place and considered in the City’s budget.
Alternatives:
- Council may choose to approve the amended employment agreement between the City of Sparks and Alyson L. McCormick for the position of Assistant City Manager.
- Council may choose not to approve the amended employment agreement between the City of Sparks and Alyson L. McCormick for the position of Assistant City Manager and provide further direction to the City Manager.
Recommended Motion:
I move to approve the amended employment agreement (AC-5707) between the City of Sparks and Alyson L. McCormick for the position of Assistant City Manager.
