Agenda Item Brief:

The goal of this project is to maintain our pedestrian routes throughout the city.  The project was coordinated with five (5) potential bidders through our informal quote process.  The City of Sparks received five (5) informal quotes for this project. CFL Construction submitted the low bid in the amount of $92,320.00.



Background:

The 2020 PCC Replacement Project is part of the City’s Transportation System – Pavement Management Program. The project involves removing and replacing sidewalk panels, curb and gutter, driveways and ADA accessible pedestrian ramps throughout the city that are either in need of replacement or have been repaired with temporary asphalt. Concrete infrastructure included in this project may have tripping hazards, severe deterioration, been submitted as a resident concern or in some other way may be impeding safe pedestrian access.



Analysis:

The City of Sparks received five (5) informal quotes for this project. Quotes were received May 22, 2020 no later than 3:00pm.

The informal quote and the construction contract are attached for review and discussion.



Alternatives:

1. City Council could approve the construction contract as outlined by Staff.

2. City Council could reject the proposed construction contract and provide direction to the City Manager.

I move to approve a construction contract (AC-5670) for the 2020 PCC Replacement Project with CFL Construction in the amount of $92,320
