Title: Consideration and possible approval of the Mayor's recommendation of appointment to the Sparks Planning Commission from the following pool of applicants listed in alphabetical order: Jonathan Crawford, Cynthia Esparza, Donald Kennedy, Kelly Luchetti, James Morman, Reid Petersen, Evan Pritsos and Kaylee Spinhirn.

Background:

The City of Sparks Planning Commission has a vacancy due to the resignation of Commissioner Mary Brock effective August 31, 2019. The vacancy was announced at the May 28, June 10 and June 24 City Council meetings. The application period closed on July 5, 2019. Applications were received from Jonathan Crawford, Cynthia Esparaza, Donald Kennedy, Kelli Luchetti, James Morman, Reid Petersen, Evan Pritsos and Kaylee Spinhirn.

Mayor Smith has recommended Mr. Evan Pritsos to fill the vacancy left by Commissioner Brock. Mr. Pritsos will serve the remainder of Commissioner Brock's term, expiring on December 31, 2020. Mr. Pritsos would than have an opportunity to be reappointed for an additional term. Mr. Pritsos has a Master's degree in American Government and a Bachelor's degree in Politics. Aside from his time away for college, Mr. Pritsos has lived in Sparks for the past 23 years. Mr. Pritsos has worked as a college instructor at both Western Nevada Community College and Truckee Meadows Community College. Mr. Pritsos also worked with previous City Councilwoman Julia Ratti and Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful to organize a neighborhood cleanup operation along Victorian Avenue.
