Established in 1971,the Sierra Arts Foundation is a community arts non-profit corporation that provides resources to encourage awareness, appreciation, accessibility, and development of the arts. Sierra Arts emphasizes teaching, nurturing and supporting the arts in our community and strives to provide education opportunities for artists of all ages, as well as development and training, financial support, and promotional and marketing assistance. Sierra Arts creates and manages spaces and venues throughout our community for artists to perform and display their work. Programs supported by Sierra Arts include gallery exhibitions, arts integration, art and music classes, and eldercare concerts.

The City has one appointment to the Sierra Arts Foundation Board of Trustees. Special Events Supervisor Francine Burge has served on the board for the past year. This appointment is for a one-year term and can be reappointed any number of times.

1. Council could confirm the Mayor's appointment.

2. Council could reject the Mayor's appointment and provide further direction to the Mayor or City Manager.
