Title: Consideration and possible approval of an application for a Gaming license for Golden Route Operations dbat Grumpy’s Sports Bar & Grill, located at 2240 Oddie Blvd., Sparks, NV, 89431, submitted by Mr. James Lawrence Wadhams II .

Recommendation: It is recommended that Council approve Mr.Wadhams’ application for a Gaming license contingent upon the location being inspected and approved by every city, county, district, and state agency having jurisdiction over the matter and upon fingerprints being returned from the FBI/CJIS that do not reflect any disqualifying arrests/convictions, and upon issuance of a gaming license by Gaming Control Board.

Financial Impact: $120.00 x 10 = $1,200.00 annually. There will be ten, multi-denominational, bar-top machines.

Background: Mr. James Lawrence Wadhams II is applying for a Gaming license for Golden Route Operations dbat Grumpy’s Sports Bar & Grill. Golden Route Operations is a licensed Slot Route Vendor, with several current gaming licenses for various businesses throughout the area. Mr. Wadhams has been the Regional Operations Manager for Golden Route Operations since Aug., 2007. From June, 2006 to July, 2007, Mr. Wadhams was a Summer Intern at Jones Vargas Law Firm, located in Reno, NV. From June, 2004 to July, 2005, Mr. Wadhams worked during the summer at All American Aire, located in Carson City, NV. Prior to that, Mr. Wadhams worked during the summer at Sausage Factory, located in Carson City, NV.

Analysis: Mr. Wadhams has complied with all existing ordinances and requirements.

Alternatives: Council may approve or disapprove this application.

Recommended Motion: I move to approve Mr. Wadhams’ application for a Gaming license for Golden Route Operations dbat Grumpy’s Sports Bar & Grill, located at 2240 Oddie Blvd., Sparks, NV contingent upon the location being inspected and approved by every city, county, district, and state agency having jurisdiction over the matter and upon fingerprints being returned from the FBI that do not reflect any disqualifying arrests/convictions.
