Agenda Item Brief:

The Eddy House and the Northern Nevada Continuum of Care are preparing to submit a grant application proposal to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP).  The YHDP will address the needs of youth experiencing homelessness in our community including youth who are pregnant and parenting, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender.  The goal is to ensure that vulnerable youth are provided the safety, housing, and services they will need to transition to successful adults.

Staff recommends the City Council approve the letter of recommendation.
