A Business Impact Statement is not required because this is not a rule.
Agenda Item Brief: This item proposes the purchase of herbicide that will be used to abate weeds in City parks, medians, islands, ditch banks, dams, and levees and around sound walls. Staff recommends approval of this purchase.

Background: The City has historically been responsible for weed abatement in City parks, medians, islands, ditch banks, dams, and levees and around sound walls.

Analysis: The herbicides will be purchased through the State of Nevada. By joining the State, the City gains the savings advantage of high volume purchasing while foregoing the need to formally bid the item. The City would be using the joinder provision allowed under NRS 332.195. The State of Nevada bid has historically been the most competitive.

Alternatives: 1. Council could approve this purchase as outlined above by staff. 2. Council could deny the request. 3. Council could direct staff to provide alternatives to this purchase.

Recommended Motion: I move to approve the purchase of herbicides for weed abatement through the State of Nevada Department of Administration Division Joinder Bid process from Vet Corp. Inc. in the amount of $66,748.75.
