After an election occurs, the City Council reviews and redefines their appointments to the various city's boards and commissions. Unfortunately, due to the extra time it took for the appointment of the Ward 3 applicant, this meeting date was forced past some of the expiration dates of the appointments.
Background:
An election was held on November 6, 2018 and the new Council Members and Mayor have been seated. Based on the terms defined, a review of appointments and new positions may need to be developed for the city's various boards & commissions.
Analysis:
There are two lists of the current Boards & Commissions attached, one has the terms and end dates attached for your review before the meeting and the other is the working document for the meeting.
This will be a two step process:
1. Each person will review their appointments, one at a time, keeping the ones they want, and removing the others by placing in the "parking lot."
2. We will go through the list of Boards & Commissions in the Parking Lot, one at a time, and reassign them.
Alternatives:
The City Council may direct any changes desired, and/or provide other direction to the City Manager.
Recommended Motion:
I move to approve the City Council appointments to city boards & commissions.
