Title: Consideration and possible approval of the Mayor’s recommendation of appointment to the Airport Noise Advisory Panel from the following pool of applicants, listed in alphabetical order: David Shocket.

Recommendation: That the City Council confirm the Mayor’s recommendation of appointment.

Background:

The Airport Noise Advisory Panel assesses information on airport noise problems, assists in coordination between land use activities and the activities of the airport, and promotes greater communication regarding airport noise among the various public bodies.

Announcement of a vacancy on the Airport Noise Advisory Panel was made on November 27, 2017 and December 11, 2017; however, the appointment was not finalized at that time.

The current encombant's term expired December 31, 2017. The new term will begin with appointment and last until December 31, 2019. The complete pool of applicants being considered, in alphabetical order are: David Shocket.

Mr. Shocket has served one two-year term and is eligible to be considered for reappointment for a second two-year term.

Recommended Motion:

I move to confirm the Mayor's appointment of David Shocket to the Airport Noise Advisory Panel for a 2-year term ending December 31, 2019.
