Agenda Item Brief:

To complete the City Manager’s recommended organizational change in the Police Department, it is recommended that the title and corresponding salary range of Police Services Manager be added to the Appendix A in the Mid Management, Professional and Technical Resolution.



Background:

This agenda item is presented following the presentation, discussion and possible approval of complement changes in the Police Department.  Amendments to the Mid Management, Professional and Technical Resolution, Appendix A are recommended to implement the proposed additions to the complement.



Analysis:

Job Classification Title and Salary Wage Ranges to be added to Appendix A:

Title:                    Police Services Manager

Pay Range:           $64,376 to $83,387



Alternatives:

1.  The City Council may approve the amendment to the Mid Management, Professional and Technical Resolution, Appendix A addition as presented.

2.  The City Council may not approve the amendment to the Mid Management, Professional and Technical Resolution, Appendix A addition as presented.

3.  The City Council may not approve the amendment to the Mid Management, Professional and Technical Resolution, Appendix A addition, but provide direction or alternatives to the City Manager.



Recommended Motion:

I move to approve the amendment to the Mid Management, Professional and Technical Resolution, Appendix A to add the job title and salary range of Police Services Manager.
