Background:

The City of Sparks Planning Commission has one vacancy due to the expiration of a term effective December 31, 2017.

Mr. Frank Petersen served a partial term on the Sparks Planning Commission from June 2014 through December 31, 2017 and has expressed interest in serving an additional four-year term. Announcement of the term was made at the November 13 and 27 City Council Meetings. Mayor Martini is recommending reappointment of Frank Petersen from the following pool of applicants, listed in alphabetical order: Joshua Fink, Paul Freeman, Frank Petersen and William Wagner.

Upon City Council confirmation, Mr. Petersen will serve a four-year term beginning January 2018 through December 2021.

Alternatives:

If the Council rejects the reappointment of Mr. Frank Petersen, the Mayor shall appoint another person from the remaining applications and the Council shall consider ratification either at the present meeting or at the next regularly scheduled meeting of the Council.

Recommended Motion:

I move to confirm the reappointment of Mr. Frank Petersen to the Sparks Planning Commission through December 31, 2021.
