A Business Impact Statement is not required because this is not a rule.
This project will construct a new park in the Wingfield Springs Planned Unit Development and includes enhancements to the Wingfield Trail. The improvements will provide residents with better access to the park. Staff Recommends approval.
Background:
Silverton Shores Park is the last park identified for construction as part of the Wingfield Springs Planned Unit Development. Additionally, to provide connectivity, the Wingfield Trail portion of the project will tie into the existing trail that stops adjacent to the Park Parcel. This will provide better access to the park and trail system for residents.
Analysis:
The project consisted of a base bid for the park and trail construction. Two alternates were included in the bid. Alternate A was for playground tiles and associated work in lieu of wood chips and Alternate B was for the construction of a decomposed granite path and dog park area.
The project was advertised for public bid on July 19, 2017. The City of Sparks received two (2) qualified bids for this project. Bids were received August 9, 2017 at 1:45pm and opened at 2:00pm.
A bid summary of the qualified bidders is shown below:
