Title: Consideration, discussion and possible approval of the ratification of Truckee Meadows Water Authority's recommendation for re-appointment of Council member Ron Smith to the Western Regional Water Commission (WRWC). Agenda Item Brief:

On February 15, 2017 the Truckee Meadows Water Authority's Board of Directors re-appointed Council Member Ron Smith to the WRWC for a 2-year term to end March 31, 2019.

Background:

The Western Regional Water Commission (WRWC) was formed by a Joint Powers Agreement and approved by the City Council on January 22, 2008. The current WRWC Commissioners representing Sparks are Council Member Donald Abbott (term expires 03.31.18); Mayor Geno Martini representing the Joint Sparks/Reno appointment for the Truckee Meadows Water Reclamation Facility (appointed by Sparks City Council, not confirmed by TMWRF partners) (term expires 03.31.18); and Council Member Ron Smith as appointed and approved by the Truckee Meadows Water Authority Board (current term expires 03.31.17).
