Title: Consideration of and possible approval of the Mayor's recommendation of the appointment of Dian VanderWell to the Truckee Meadows Regional Planning Commission from the following potential appointees: George Cammarota, James Fewins, Frank Petersen and Dian VanderWell.

Recommendation: That Council confirm the Mayor's recommendation of the appointment of Dian VanderWell to the Regional Planning Commission.

Background:

The City of Sparks has three Planning Commissioners who are appointed to serve on the Truckee Meadows Regional Planning Commission. Recently, Commissioner Doug Voelz resigned from his appointment as Commissioner for both the Sparks Planning Commission and Truckee Meadows Regional Planning Commission. The vacancy was announced at the Planning Commission meeting in July and the Commission recommended the appointment of Dian VanderWell during their August 4, 2016 meeting. Commissioner VanderWell will serve the remainder of the term vacated due to Commissioner Voelz's resignation. The term shall commence immediately and will run through June 30, 2018. Commissioner Vanderwell may apply for reappointment if she chooses.
