Title: Consideration and possible approval of an application for a Gaming license for Nugget Sparks, LLC, dba Nugget Casino Resort, located at 1100 Nugget Ave., Sparks, NV, 89431, submitted by Mr. Anthony A. Marnell III.
Petitioner/Presenter: Mr. Anthony A. Marnell III resides at 58 Olympia Hills Circle, Las Vegas, NV 89141./Chief of Police Brian Allen
Recommendation: It is recommended that Council approve Mr. Anthony A. Marnell III’s application for a Gaming license contingent upon the location being inspected and approved by every city, county, district, and state agency having jurisdiction over the matter and upon fingerprints being returned from the FBI/CJIS that do not reflect any disqualifying arrests/convictions, and upon issuance of a gaming license by Gaming Control Board.
Financial Impact: $30 X 451 = $ 13,530 quarterly; $105 X 22 = $2,310 quarterly; $150 X 1 = $150 quarterly; $75 X 5 = $375 quarterly; and $225 X 2 = $450 quarterly. For a total of $16,815 quarterly. There will be 451, multi-denominational, Slot/Poker machines, 5 Draw/Stud Poker Tables, 14 Twenty-one Tables, 2 Craps Tables, 2 Roulette Tables, 1 Bingo, 4 Pai Gow, and 2 Keno.

Mr. Anthony A. Marnell III has submitted for consideration and possible approval, a Gaming license for Nugget Sparks, LLC, dba Nugget Casino Resort, located at 1100 Nugget Ave., Sparks, NV, 89431.



Background:

Mr. Anthony A. Marnell III is applying for a Gaming license for Nugget Sparks, LLC, dba Nugget Casino Resort, located at 1100 Nugget Ave., Sparks, NV, 89431.   Marnell Gaming portfolio includes the Colorado Belle and Edegewater casino resorts, two prominent casino-hotels on the Colorado River in Laughlin. The company also built The M Resort Spa Casino and the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.  The Nugget will be the latest acquisition for the growing company. Prior to working in the gaming industry, Marnell was drafted by the San Diego Padres (1995) and played three years in the minor league.



Analysis:

Mr. Anthony A. Marnell III has complied with all existing ordinances and requirements.



Alternatives:

Council may approve or disapprove this application.



Recommended Motion:

I move to approve Mr. Marnell’s application for a Gaming license for Nugget Sparks, LLC, dba Nugget Casino Resort, located at 1100 Nugget Ave., Sparks, NV,  contingent upon the location being inspected and approved by every city, county, district, and state agency having jurisdiction over the matter and upon fingerprints being returned from the FBI  that do not reflect any disqualifying arrests/convictions.
