The project is the improvement to existing drainage facilities to mitigate storm runoff flows that bypass public storm drain facilities and enter private property during major storm events. There are two (2) existing shared driveways that serve three (3) single family residential homes – APNs 030-393-41, 42, and 43 within the City of Sparks, NV. The proposed drainage improvements include additional Type 4-R catch basins in line with existing catch basins, valley gutters across both of the driveways to continue any bypassed flows within curb and gutter in Vista Blvd, new pedestrian ramps, and replaced striping improvements as necessary.

On Wednesday December 23, 2015 at 10:00 am, four contractors were invited to meet near the project site to discuss the project and the informal quote. The informal quote package containing the quote documents and the plans were given to each representative. Quotes were due January 6, 2016 by 3:00pm. A total of four informal quotes were received as outlined in the chart below.  Reno Concrete Inc was the low respondent at $56,596.  The engineer’s estimate for this project was $49,917.60.

1.            City Council could approve the Vista Drainage Improvement Project as outlined by Staff.

2.            City Council could reject the Vista Drainage Improvement Project and provide direction to the City Manager.
