Title: Consideration and possible award of a contract for the 2016 Street Rehabilitation – Unit 1, Bid No. 15/16-001, PWP-WA-2015-182 to Sierra Nevada Construction, in the amount of $1,080,007.

Recommendation: Staff recommends that Council award the 2016 Street Rehabilitation – Unit 1, Bid No. 15/16-001, PWP-WA-2015-182 to Sierra Nevada Construction, in the amount of $1,080,007.
Financial Impact: This project will combine budget of $1,080,007 from four different FY16 approved CIP projects in three different funds. $935,655 will come from Fund 1401 Project #16-0500 - $3m available and Project #16-0501 - $250k available, $24,300 will come from Fund 1630 Project #16-6593 - $100k available and $120,052 will come from Fund 1640 Project #16-6691 - $500k available.

Agenda Item Brief:

Consideration and possible award of the 2016 Street Rehabilitation – Unit 1, Bid No. 15/16-001, PWP-WA-2015-182 to Sierra Nevada Construction, in the amount of $1,080,007. Staff recommends that council award the contract.



Background:

This 2016 Street Rehabilitation Unit 1 project is part of the City’s Transportation System - Pavement Management Program. The project was prioritized through the City’s Pavement Management System and outlined in the 5 year Program of Projects.



Analysis:

The project scope identifies the need to remove and replace as needed rundown curb gutter, driveway approaches, sidewalk ramps and reconstruct the roadway with new asphalt on Glen Martin Drive from Glen Vista Drive to Goldy Way, Glen Martin Court, Glen Molly Drive from Glen Vista Drive to Goldy Way, Glen Molly Court, William Morby Drive from Howard Drive to E. York Way, Ralph Court, Carvin Court, Glen Valley Drive from Glen Vista Drive to William Morby Drive, North Truckee Lane from Baring Boulevard to Glen Meadows Drive and Pascus Place.

The City of Sparks received five (5) qualified bids for this project, which were received June 16, 2015 at 1:45 p.m. and opened on June 16, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.

Recommended Motion:

I move to award the 2016 Street Rehabilitation – Unit 1, Bid No. 15/16-001, PWP-WA-2015-182 to Sierra Nevada Construction, in the amount of $1,080,007.
