Title: Consideration and possible approval of an application for a Gaming license for Los Compadres Restaurant I, Inc., located at 1250 Disc Drive, Sparks, NV, 89436, submitted by Mr. Rafael Melendrez Valencia.
Petitioner/Presenter: Mr. Rafael Melendrez Valencia resides at 200 Sartor Court, Sparks, Nevada./Chief of Police Brian Allen
Recommendation: It is recommended that Council approve Mr. Valencia’s application for a Gaming license contingent upon the location being inspected and approved by every city, county, district, and state agency having jurisdiction over the matter and upon fingerprints being returned from the FBI/CJIS that do not reflect any disqualifying arrests/convictions, and upon issuance of a gaming license by Gaming Control Board.
Financial Impact: $120.00 x 8 = $960.00 annually. There will be eight multi- denominational, bar-top slot machines.

Background: Mr. Rafael Melendrez Valencia is applying for a Gaming license for Los Compadres Restaurant I, Inc., located at 1250 Disc Drive, the location which was formerly known as Vista Grill. Mr. Valencia has applied with the State Gaming Commission and his application was approved on 7-24-14. Mr. Valencia is the owner/president of Los Compadres. He has been the owner/president of Los Compadres in Reno, NV since 1995.

Analysis: Mr. Valencia complied with all existing ordinances and requirements.

Alternatives: Council may approve or disapprove this application.

Recommended Motion: I move to approve Mr. Valencia’s application for a Gaming license for Los Compadres Restaurant I, Inc., located at 1250 Disc Drive, Sparks, NV contingent upon the location being inspected and approved by every city, county, district, and state agency having jurisdiction over the matter and upon fingerprints being returned from the FBI that do not reflect any disqualifying arrests/convictions.
