Background: The City of Sparks has 3 appointments to the Regional Planning Governing Board for staggered three-year terms. Each appointee is an elected official. Current members are Mayor Geno Martini, Council Member Mike Carrigan, Council Member Ed Lawson, and Council Member Ron Smith, as an alternate. Council Member Ron Smith’s appointment expires on January 30, 2014. Council Member Smith is willing to continue to serve on the Board, or the City Council may select another Council Member to take his place. The term for alternates is two years, and will expire on January 30, 2016.
