Agenda Item Brief: Consideration and possible award of a contract to install four shade structures at Cottonwood Park, to Pavers Plus, in the amount of $29,380. The installation of these shade structures will be a needed improvement at Cottonwood Park. Staff recommends approval.
Background: The four shade structures will add much needed shade and seating for the families that frequent Cottonwood Park. The City is purchasing the four shade structures under a separate contract. The funding for the installation of these shelters is coming from Park Construction Tax District 2 Fund 1407.
Analysis: The City purchased the shelters under a separate materials contract and selected four local contractors to informally quote installation of these shelters. A recap of the quotes received is given below: • Pavers Plus $29,380.00 • Gradex $31,900.00 • West Coast $41,360.48
Alternatives: 1. City Council could approve the contract for the installation of four shade structures at Cottonwood Park, to Pavers Plus, in the amount of $29,380.00 2. City Council could reject the contract for the installation of four shade structures at Cottonwood Park, to Pavers Plus, in the amount of $29,380.00 as outlined by staff, and provide direction to the City Manager.
Recommended Motion: I move to award the contract for the installation of four shade structures at Cottonwood Park, to Pavers Plus, in the amount of $29,380.
