Title: Consideration and possible action regarding the Planning Commission’s action to approve PCN12022, a Special Use Permit request to allow for a 201 room resort hotel/casino on a site approximately 12.6 acres in size in the NUD (New Urban District – The Legends at Sparks Marina Planned Development) zoning district generally located at 100 Legends Bay Drive, Sparks, NV.

Agenda Item Brief: On March 7, 2013, the Sparks Planning Commission approved a Special Use Permit a Special Use Permit request to allow for a 201 room resort hotel/casino on a site approximately 12.6 acres in size in the NUD (New Urban District – The Legends Planned Development) zoning district generally located at 100 Legends Bay Drive, Sparks, NV. On March 12, 2013, Council member Lawson requested the Planning Commission’s action be reviewed by the City Council.

Recommended Motion: I move to uphold the Planning Commission’s approval of the Special Use Permit associated with PCN12022 to allow for a 201 room resort hotel/casino, adopting Findings S1 through S6 and the facts supporting these Findings as set forth in the Planning Commission staff report, subject to the Conditions of Approval 1 through 31 as listed in the Planning Commission staff report.
