Recommendation: Staff recommends that the City Council approve the purchase of Crafco Poly Flex II in the amount of $41,400 during FY 12/13.
Financial Impact: $41,400 in Road Fund 1401. $80,625 was approved for Project 13-0518, 1401 Crack Seal Material in the FY13 CIP and $41,448 of budget authority remains.

Agenda Item Brief: Staff is requesting approval of the purchase of Crafco Poly Flex II in the amount of $41,400 in support of the 2012/2013 corrective maintenance program.
Background: Crafco Poly Flex II is the product used in the crack sealing process when performing maintenance on City streets. This product has proven to give the City the best performance compared with similar products on the market. The Maintenance Division estimates the amount of the product needed to complete the work for the season, and purchases accordingly.
Analysis: The City will be utilizing the “joinder” provision allowed under NRS 332.115. Specifically, the City will be using a contract for these materials that was issued by the State of Nevada, to Crafco, Inc. The State’s bid represented very high qualities of material and the City is able to join this contract and leverage those higher volumes to our benefit.
Alternatives: 1. Council could approve this purchase as outlined by staff. 2. Council could deny this purchase. 3. Council could direct staff to provide alternatives to this purchase.
Recommended Motion: I move to approve the purchase of Crafco Poly Flex II in the amount of $41,400 during FY12/13.
