Agenda Item Brief: Petitioner requests waiver of business license renewal penalty of $70.00, stating that business owners were out of the country and unable to review mail. When attempted to renew business license, penalties had been accessed.
Background: Business license expired on 4/23/12. Business owner was unable to renew due to travel outside of the country. Ms. Plata attempted to renew the business license on 7/10/12 but per SMC Chapter 13, Section 27.070E, penalties of $70.00 were assessed.
Analysis:
Alternatives: The Council may decline to waive the penalty fees of $70.00.
Recommended Motion: I move to approve the waiver of penalties in the amount of $70.00 for PCB n Test, Inc.
