Title: Consideration and possible approval of an application for a gaming license for Winners Gaming, Inc., DBA Jacksons Food Stores, located at 1600 Victorian Ave., Sparks, NV, 89431, submitted by Robert G. King.

Recommendation: It is recommended that Council approve Mr. King’s application for a Gaming license contingent upon the approval from the State of Nevada Gaming Control Board; location being inspected and approved by every city, county, district, and state agency having jurisdiction over the matter; and upon fingerprints being returned from the FBI/CJIS that do not reflect any disqualifying arrests/convictions.
Financial Impact: $30.00 x 3 machines = $90.00 annually. There will be three machines: two will be themed .01 cent coin-operated games; and one will be a multi-game, multi-denominational coin-operated machine.
Business Impact (Per NRS 237):

Robert King has submitted for consideration and possible approval a gaming license application for Winners Gaming, Inc., DBA Jacksons Food Stores, located at 1600 Victorian Ave., Sparks, NV, 89431. Staff recommends conditional approval of the gaming license.

 



Background:

Robert G. King is applying for a gaming License for Winners Gaming, Inc., DBA Jacksons Food Stores, located at 1600 Victorian Ave., Sparks, NV, 89431.  Mr. King has been the president of Winners Gaming, since 1986.  Prior to being president of Winners Gaming, Mr. King worked as a route driver for J & J Novelty from January 1984 to June 1986, and as a framer for K & K Builders from December 1982 to January 1984. 

 



Analysis:

Mr. King has complied with all existing ordinances and requirements. Therefore, staff
recommends conditional approval of the gaming license.

 



Alternatives:

1. Council may conditionally approve the application for a gaming license.
2. Council may deny the application and provide direction to the City Manager.



Recommended Motion:

I move to approve Mr. King’s application for a gaming license for Winners Gaming, Inc., DBA Jacksons Food Stores, located at 1600 Victorian Ave., Sparks, NV, contingent upon approval by the Nevada Gaming Control Board; the location being inspected and approved by every city, county, district, and state agency having jurisdiction over the matter; and upon fingerprints being returned from the FBI that do not reflect any disqualifying arrests/convictions.
