Title: Consideration and possible approval of an application for a gaming license for Sartini Gaming, LLC, DBA Woody’s Grille & Spirits, located at 960 South McCarran Blvd., Sparks, Nevada 89431, as a slot route operator, submitted by Ms. Phyllis A. Gilland.

Recommendation: It is recommended that Council approve Ms. Phyllis Gilland’s application for a gaming license contingent upon the approval from the State of Nevada Gaming Control Board; the location being inspected and approved by every city, county, district, and state agency having jurisdiction over the matter; and upon fingerprints being returned from the FBI/CJIS that do not reflect any disqualifying arrests/convictions.
Financial Impact: $30.00 x 10 = $300.00 annually. There will be 10 multi-denominational coin operated machines.

     A Business Impact Statement is not required because this is not a rule.

Background:

Ms. Phyllis Gilland is applying for a gaming license for Sartini Gaming, LLC, DBA Woody’s Grille & Spirits, located at 960 South McCarran Blvd., Sparks, Nevada 89431, as a slot route operator. Ms. Gilland has been the Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Golden Entertainment, Inc., for three years.



Analysis:

Ms. Phyllis Gilland has complied with all existing ordinances and requirements. Therefore, staff recommends that City Council approve the gaming license.



Alternatives:
  1. Council may approve the application for a gaming license.
  2. Council may deny the application and provide further direction to the City Manager.


Recommended Motion:

I move to approve Ms.Phyllis Gilland’s application for a Gaming license for Sartini Gaming, LLC DBAT Woody’s Grille & Spirits, located at 960 South McCarran Blvd., Sparks, Nevada 89431 as a slot route operator, contingent upon approval of the Nevada Gaming Control Board; the location being inspected and approved by every city, county, district, and state agency having jurisdiction over the matter; and upon fingerprints being returned from the FBI that do not reflect any disqualifying arrests/convictions.
