Recommendation: Council approve Mr. Mark Sterbens’ application for a Gaming license contingent upon the location being inspected and approved by every city, county, district, and state agency having jurisdiction over the matter and upon fingerprints being returned from the FBI/CJIS that do not reflect any disqualifying arrests/convictions.

Mr. Sterbens is applying for a Gaming license for Nugget Casino dba Smooth Bourbon located at 1040 Victorian Ave Sparks, Nevada 89431. Mr. Sterbens is the General Manager and Senior Vice President at the Nugget Casino Resort since 2016.

Analysis:

Mr. Sterbens has complied with all existing ordinances and requirements.

Alternatives:

1. Council may approve this application as submitted.

2. Council may deny this application and provide further direction to the City Manager.

Recommended Motion:

I move to approve Mr. Sterbens’ application for a Gaming license for Nugget Casino dba Smooth Bourbon located at 1040 Victorian Ave., Sparks, Nevada contingent upon the location being inspected and approved by every city, county, district, and state agency having jurisdiction over the matter and upon fingerprints being returned from the FBI that do not reflect any disqualifying arrests/convictions.
