Title: Consideration, discussion and possible approval of a professional services contract (AC-5428) with Premier Inspection Services for contract labor to provide building inspection services for the remainder of FY18 in an amount not to exceed $125,000.

Budget Correction Plan:
A budget augmentation will in the amount of $125,000 will be done from Base Salary & Wages in Program 130903 to cover budget for this expenditure.
Business Impact (Per NRS 237):
     A Business Impact Statement is not required because this is not a rule.
Agenda Item Brief:

Staff is requesting that the City Council approve an expenditure of up to $125,000 for contract labor to provide building inspection services for the remainder of FY18.



Background:

Since June 2015, Community Services-Building Inspection Division has utilized contract workers as building inspectors through third party vendors to help with the demands of increased building inspections.



Analysis:

Premier Inspection Services has prepared a proposal to provide the City of Sparks with outside professional building inspection services. Staff have reviewed the proposal and finds the terms acceptable. Staff recommends approval.



Alternatives:

1. The City Council could award the contract as outlined by staff.

2. The City Council could reject the contract and provide direction to the City Manager.



Recommended Motion:

I move to approve a professional services contract to Premier Inspection Services for building inspection services for the remainder of FY18 in an amount not to exceed $125,000.
