Agenda Item Brief:

This is a workshop to review and discuss the Comprehensive Plan as proposed by the Planning Commission.

Background:

The city started the Public Outreach portion of the Comprehensive Plan in October 2015. The Phase 1 Survey closed in February 2016. In March 2016, the Phase 2 portion kicked off. The Planning Comission held a workshop on August 4, 2016 to review the draft Comprehensive Plan and held a public hearing on the draft Comprehensive Plan on August 18, 2016. The Planning Commission approved the plan which includes the 121 goals and policies and a new Land Use Map. The comformance review with Truckee Meadows Regional Plan is schedule to be heard at the Regional Planning Commission on September 28, 2016. It is anticipated that the Comprehensive Plan will go to City Council for certification in October.
