Agenda Item Brief: Commission appointments

Background: There are currently two vacancies on the Park & Recreation Commission. Announcement of these vacancies was made at several City Council meetings. Seven people have applied to serve on the Commission, and the Mayor has conducted brief phone interviews with the applicants. He will make his recommendation for appointment at the meeting. Council must confirm the appointments. Both appointments are for three-year terms which will expire June 30, 2014
